In December 2014, I started my R+F business with one person: Me. :)
And now here I sit, just 18 months later looking at a map of how much my business has grown. It didn't happen over night, but with consistent, small, daily activities, I am now doing business in almost half of the country.
Think of it like a franchise....
I opened "my store" in December 2014. I shared my love for our products with everyone I knew. Some just wanted to buy from my store, but others wanted to get in on the action. I look at the latter as me opening "another store" in their city/state, and am now able to serve their network of friends through that store.
There are days when my store is BOOMING, and there are others when it's slow. But on those days, I have many other stores across the country thriving and bustling of which I am getting a percentage override for their production, making my slow day still a reeeeeally good day. :)
Wouldn't you like to own your own franchise for less than $1,000? Even better, a franchise that has been awarded as the fastest growing in their market for the past 5 years in a row?!? One that is projected to do over a BILLION in sales by the close of this year? One that has dominated its industry with #1 selling products?! One that is about to launch into its 3rd country (Australia) with full global expansion on the horizon?!
This train isn't slowing down, y'all. It's time to put your mark on the map!!!

Invest in YOU!
18 months ago, my husband and I decided to make an investment in something a little different...something commonly misunderstood...something a little outside of the box...something others might call "risky."
No, I'm not talking about my skincare business or even Direct Sales...I'm talking about me. We decided to invest in ME.
Last week, I got paid for this decision. And, to date, we have made a 4,148% return on our investment.
I don't say any of this to brag. I say it to INSPIRE you. YOU are worth investing in. You...your ambition, your drive, your creativity, your independence, your desire to be unlike anyone else out there!! It ALL has value and can be greatly rewarded in the right setting. Corporate America isn't set up to honor and reward those of us who want to run at our own pace and climb as high as we want. But my business is, and I am ready to partner with you and run straight to the top of your potential!
To my sweet husband, thank you for always believing in me!! Thank you for seeing MY potential and breaking me free from trying to fit in everywhere else so that we could live OUR lives on OUR terms.

How DARE you!?
I, like many other's in my company, had never done anything in direct sales before. Truthfully, the sound of it was revolting. Inventory? No thanks. Parties??? HECK NO! Delivering products all over town?!?! Yuck!! No thank you!
But when Rodan + Fields was presented to me with the bewildering concept of no inventory, no parties, and no deliveries....well, I knew I had to at LEAST check it out.
Turns out, it's 100% true. I don't carry any inventory, host any home parties, and I don't handle any of the shipments to my customers. So what exactly do I do?!?! Ha! I play on Facebook here and there, and then I spend the rest of my day LIVING MY LIFE. :)
But the other day, someone approached me about their direct sales company. Being a natural supporter of this industry in general, I politely listened as she shared her company's business model with excitement. She told me that in order to get started, all you had to do was purchase a small inventory of about $5,000-$7,000. (I'll give you a minute to catch your breath...)
When I questioned what do you do with this inventory, she excitedly went on to tell me that you just have to host 2-3 parties a week, either in person or virtual, to sell your inventory. (I'll give you another minute to relax the expression you most likely have on your face right now...)
I went on to ask about the products in general. They are not consumable (they are clothes actually), so how much can one customer actually need/buy over time? Sure, I like to shop just as much as the next gal. But these garments are pretty basic and are apparently built to last - leading me to think I will not need to buy them, well, ever again. She assured me that there was a demand for patterned leggings and that this was a sustainable industry. (Blink....please don't forget to blink.)
Lastly, she went on so innocently to tell me that in order to maintain your ability to distribute these highly coveted party leggings, you had to purchase another $3,000+ each month - just to maintain your status! (Please try and refrain from yelling that cuss word that you likely have on the tip of your tongue.)
Then she looked at me and said the most offensive thing, "Don't you want to do this with me?!?!"
And I thought to myself...ummm....how do I say this nicely...."HECK NO!"
So it occurred to me that many of you might also think that THIS is what I AM doing. (Or something similar.) Yikes! No offense, but HEAVENS NO! Here are some quick facts about my biz:
- ZERO inventory
- ZERO parties- Brand/Creator REPUTATION and proven LONGEVITY to GROUND our company- AWARD WINNING compensation plan
- FASTEST GROWING premium skincare in the US
- All overhead is MINIMAL, OPTIONAL, and truthfully just replenishing an item or two of your own beloved stash of products AS NEEDED
I challenge you to #gettheFACTS before ruling out this opportunity. There's a REASON why so many high-level professionals (Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants, Stock Brokers, CEOs, etc.) are joining our company left and right. It's b/c this is DIFFERENT and it's HUGE! #daretodeviate#letsconnect #BIGbusiness

Want a Job with REAL Benefits?
Let’s talk about benefits....
I often hear people say that they can’t do R+F because they need something with benefits. The average monthly cost of health insurance coverage without a subsidy is $286 for an individual and $727 for a family (http://bit.ly/1SgBC5f) Sounds steep, right?
But at what price are you paying to have that cost covered by someone else, rather than covering it yourself? Are you truly fulfilled by what you’re doing? Do you find yourself longing for more time with your family, friends, or even yourself? Are you frequently rewarded for your hard work, or does it go unnoticed no matter what you contribute?
Many people would rather pay those monthly prices for a car than for their own health and happiness. A car that depreciates every time you crank it up, versus your overall happiness which increases the value of your health, your relationships, and your overall community. Or, think about this...by investing in YOU and daring to do something a little bit different, you could actually reduce (or eliminate) the amount you pay in childcare and give your children what they really want....you.
What if in less than 2 years you could replace your current salary? That time will pass anyway...why not do something in the meantime that is setting you up for a life with real purpose and priceless benefits? #daretodeviate #jobwithREALBENEFITS #worktoLIVE #lifeonYOURterms#bethebestYOU

Don't Be the "B" Word
Too often, I hear people call themselves the "B" word. When did this become cool? Typically I can blame most things on the Kardashians and their influence on our culture. And while those ladies may be many things, the "B" word - they are not. But I'm seeing this trend everywhere. On Facebook, in water cooler conversations, even in churches! People even have coffee mugs and t-shirts proclaiming it like it's a badge of honor. Do people really think that's attractive? No, seriously...I'm asking. Is this some new right of passage for women in our culture? Like, unless you are the "B" word, then you really don't have any significance in this world?? I even see women passing this trait on to their children - molding them into little "B" people. What ever happened to just being content? To being at peace with yourself? To me, I think that's pretty cool and coffee mug worthy.
I'm talking about being busy. That is the "B" word that is taking over our culture. And it saddens me to no end. Being busy is more of a parasite than a praise. It eats away at our ability to be present in the moment - it weakens our focus on what's important - and it causes us to really miss out on some great opportunities in life.
But yet it's how most people, women specifically, identify themselves. Ask 10 women today, "How are you doing?" My guess is that 7 out of 10 (if not all) of them will say "Busy!" We taught ourselves that to be busy is to thrive! To be busy is to have meaning and purpose! To be busy is to make the most out of life! When in actuality, being busy just means that you are giving a little bit of yourself to a lot of things, rather than giving your whole self to the most important things. And now we've added apps and various forms of technology to help organize our busyness so that we can add more things to our plates and be even busier. We even wear these busy-makers on our wrists, so that we can free our hands to be...well...busy.
"I'm too busy" is the #1 objection I get when I talk to people about my business. And maybe that's just their polite way to trying to tell me "no." But if that really is your reason for not wanting to engage in something like my business...ask yourself this: Are all of the things I am busy doing really fulfilling me? Or do I simply feel exhausted and empty at the end of my busy day?
If you aren't happy with your answer to those questions, I really would love to talk to you more about this opportunity. True, it's not for everyone. But if busyness is what is holding you back...maybe, just maybe, this is the one thing that could free you from that and give YOU - ALL of you - back to what's important.

My Motto in Life
This motto has been life changing for me multiple times:
I ended up moving to Nashville against all parental and peer advice...where I didn’t know a soul, didn’t have a job, and had just a few dollars in my pocket. I could have lost it all...but instead, I made lifetime friendships and had the rare opportunity of working with some of country music’s finest!
I ended up going on a date with that guy who had been just a friend for over a year. It could have ruined a friendship...but instead, he became my best-friend and my husband!
I ended up joining that skincare business that raised many eyebrows and had some of my closest friends laughing at me. I could have fallen flat on my face...but instead, I found myself thriving as a successful business owner, enjoying my life on MY terms.
To hear more of my story, take just 8 minutes to dial in:

Don’t live in regret. This is one opportunity where, if you embrace it, it can truly change your world as you know it. #daretodeviate #lifeonYOURterms

Why I Do What I Do
A little over a year ago, Johnatan and I prayerfully decided to embark upon a skincare business. Not knowing what the outcome would be, but trusting God that He would order my steps and guide my path. We knew that starting a family was on the horizon, and wanted to prepare ourselves for that life changing moment with a fulfilling career for me that also provided the flexibility and freedom to be a full time Mom. Watching so many of our friends make that tough decision to return to work after falling in love with their little miracle was heartbreaking. And we knew there had to be another way. So we were willing to take the risk, roll up our sleeves, and get to work.
This decision didn’t come without some raised eyebrows, some insulting comments, and some laughter from people we are close to. But here I sit today, working from home, staring at these adorable little shoes (courtesy of my sweet friend, Brittany) that will soon tippy-toe around our house, and I can honestly say....the laughter, the looks, and the comments don’t hold a candle to the overwhelming joy I feel knowing that I will be there for my baby girl. This is why I do this... #lifeonmyterms #daretodeviate #anotherway
