Be YOURSELF!

Not too long ago, I was struggling to find my place in Corp America. I loved all the people around me, but the jobs themselves left me unfulfilled on a personal level. My strengths were not being strengthened, and by default, my personality was slowly being filed away into some bottom drawer under “B” for “Boring.” 

It got to a point where I didn’t even recognize myself anymore. The creative side of me was so underutilized that I found myself asking my close friends, “Remember when I used to be funny? That was real, right? It existed, right?”

Joining an industry that is commonly mistaken as as a scam or something for stay-at-home-moms looking for ways to fill their time was a big deal for me. Yes...I wanted something different, but was I willing to do THAT to get it??? I wasn’t sure, but I really felt like I had no other choice but to try.

After doing my own research, I took the leap of faith...and then something cool happened.

Not one month in to my new business did I feel my soul starting to awaken like a slow, but glorious sunrise! It wasn’t just the ability to be creative again, it was the ability to be ME again! 100% me.

As I am just days (hours, maybe...who knows) away from welcoming my little baby girl, I am so grateful that she is getting to meet ME, and not some drained version that slightly resembles me. I’m so grateful that I get to give her ME, and not some distracted person that has to count down the days before I return to my bottom drawer file. And I’m so grateful that I get to be present for HER little life’s moments, and never have to miss a single one for someone else’s dream.

I Like Big BUTS, and I Cannot Lie...

I talk to people all the time about my business. Why wouldn’t I? It has dramatically blessed my life in so many ways, and I simply want to share in that blessing with others. 

Inevitably, though, people are skeptical, and many conversations end with, “I really want to, but...”

I’m not here to overcome objections, be that money, time, don’t care about skincare, afraid no one will buy from you, you’re too cool for direct sales 😉, don’t want to post on Facebook, etc.

I fully believe in what I am offering and the value of this brand, our products, and the change that this company is bringing to people’s lives. And if someone doesn’t see that, it’s usually because their “but” is too big.😉

I had a big but, too. I was “too cool for direct sales.” 😎 Yep. For 2 years I turned my nose up to this opportunity! Now, having experienced what I have in the past 19 months, I’m KICKING my but!

Don't Be the "B" Word

Too often, I hear people call themselves the "B" word.  When did this become cool?  Typically I can blame most things on the Kardashians and their influence on our culture.  And while those ladies may be many things, the "B" word - they are not.  But I'm seeing this trend everywhere.  On Facebook, in water cooler conversations, even in churches!  People even have coffee mugs and t-shirts proclaiming it like it's a badge of honor.  Do people really think that's attractive?  No, seriously...I'm asking.  Is this some new right of passage for women in our culture?  Like, unless you are the "B" word, then you really don't have any significance in this world??  I even see women passing this trait on to their children - molding them into little "B" people.  What ever happened to just being content? To being at peace with yourself?  To me, I think that's pretty cool and coffee mug worthy. 

I'm talking about being busy.  That is the "B" word that is taking over our culture.  And it saddens me to no end.  Being busy is more of a parasite than a praise.  It eats away at our ability to be present in the moment - it weakens our focus on what's important - and it causes us to really miss out on some great opportunities in life. 

But yet it's how most people, women specifically, identify themselves.  Ask 10 women today, "How are you doing?"  My guess is that 7 out of 10  (if not all) of them will say "Busy!"  We taught ourselves that to be busy is to thrive!  To be busy is to have meaning and purpose!  To be busy is to make the most out of life! When in actuality, being busy just means that you are giving a little bit of yourself to a lot of things, rather than giving your whole self to the most important things.  And now we've added apps and various forms of technology to help organize our busyness so that we can add more things to our plates and be even busier.  We even wear these busy-makers on our wrists, so that we can free our hands to be...well...busy.  

"I'm too busy" is the #1 objection I get when I talk to people about my business.  And maybe that's just their polite way to trying to tell me "no."  But if that really is your reason for not wanting to engage in something like my business...ask yourself this:  Are all of the things I am busy doing really fulfilling me?  Or do I simply feel exhausted and empty at the end of my busy day? 

If you aren't happy with your answer to those questions, I really would love to talk to you more about this opportunity.  True, it's not for everyone.  But if busyness is what is holding you back...maybe, just maybe, this is the one thing that could free you from that and give YOU - ALL of you - back to what's important.

Why Would You Date YOU?

On my first date with Johnatan, I asked him this question: why would you date you? 

I was 34 years old. I didn't have time to waste. I needed to know upfront if this guy and I could work. And here's what he said: 

"I'm a provider. I'm all-in. And I'm ready." 

With those simple words, my heart jumped! 8 months later we were engaged, and 3 months after that we were married.

So I asked myself a similar question today: why would I do business with me? 

There are thousands of Consultants out there, offering essentially the same thing. But here's what you need to know about me: 

1. I am committed. I am committed to the vision of this business and committed to helping my team be the best they can be. I have taken on my role with R+F full time, and through that I am committed to finding the best ways to help those that partner with me, sharing every triumph and failure with full transparency. 

2. I am connected. My team leaders are truly the best! Not only are they commonly recognized by corporate for their success, but they share exclusive information with us all the time that helps our businesses grow. I've never met a more generous group of people with such dedication to those that partner with them. 

3. I am passionate. I am hungry for knowledge - about these products and about this business and eagerly share that with my team. But with that passion, I also yield discernment. I meet my team where they are - if they are ready to run, I am laced up and running along stride for stride. 

Just like I was on that first date with Johnatan, I believe there are people out there searching for something more, but need to cut to the chase on what exactly is being offered. So there you have it.

Having once been part of this large percentage, I can actually believe it. I squandered my savings away on chasing a dream in my 20s because, in my mind, it never occurred to me that the money/gigs would just stop. 

But stop it did - at a screeching halt. I remember sitting at a stop sign with just $20 to my name, no freelance jobs on the horizon, when my gas light came on. Ultimate low. Not 1 minute later, my friend called and said I could work at his popular live music bar. I was beyond grateful! In just 2 shifts, I was back in the black! My pride was saved.

What could YOU do if you were UNLIMITED?!?!

Do you know what that word really means? 

I didn't. ESPECIALLY when it came to money. Before I married my financially savvy husband, I maaaaaaay have been known to put groceries on my credit card. Ha! 

But when you know that your earning potential is UNLIMITED - it sets your sights on GREATER things. Groceries, mortgages, car payments, school - those are all temporary payments. The financial access that I have with my business allows me to think BEYOND payments and on to LIFE CHANGING possibilities - for me as well as thousands of others!!! 

Stop and think about that for a minute. What could you do with UNLIMITED resources? Even lottery money runs out!  smile emoticon I have already replaced my "real job" income, and my checks continue to grow at an average of 20% each month. But what's better.......my monthly donation to Justice Ministries has increased 274% since my first contribution!!! I'm already praying about additional organizations to partner with as THAT is the kind of resources I am plugged in to! 

It requires work - don't let anyone tell you differently. But this is why I do it - to be a river a resources to other people. If my few hours a day can open me up more to flow more blessings onto others, you better believe that I will be giving this "job" my ALL!

Join the Revolution!!!

Remember learning about the Industrial Revolution?  Everything we enjoy today....the phone you are holding, the car you drive, the TV you watch, the appliances in your kitchen, the clothes you are wearing...everything can be accredited back to that moment in history where some people said, "You know what?  Doing it by hand is just not getting it done! Let's create something revolutionary!"  But still, some refused to embrace the new way and wanted to maintain the more traditional approach.  To each their own, but the ones that embraced the industry changed lives, impacted generations to come, advanced the world, and grew their businesses at unprecedented speed!  

Today, that revolution is our Social Commerce.  While brick & mortar stores will always be a staple in our culture, the businesses that are also embracing social commerce are the ones that will expand their reach, grow their businesses and impact generations to come.  

So while yes, we may be "polluting" your Facebook environment and may even be taking some of your valued employees out of their traditional setting and into ours, it would be foolish of us to consider anything but moving forward.  We are a part of the greatest revolution of our time - shaping the way business is being done.  

And believe me...it's exhilarating!
